Ficus Benjamin Starlight

$11.00

The small-leaved shrub Benjamin ficus is a member of the mulberry family. It is very popular among flower growers. The plant is named after Jackson Benjamina Deidon, a botanist from Spain. However, many people mistakenly believe that it was named after American President Benjamin Franklin. This plant is characterized by its unpretentiousness, and it is worth noting that the first 3 months of life in a new place are the most difficult for it. If during this time the ficus does not fall ill or die, it means that it will be relatively easy to care for in the future.

In nature, the Benjamin ficus is found in India, southern China, the Philippines, Malaysia and northern Australia. The size of the shrub depends on the growing conditions and on the variety, and it can vary from 50 to 300 centimeters. Over the course of a year, the average height of a shrub is about 20 centimeters.

When growing under home conditions, you will not see the flowering of such a shrub. However, in greenhouses, it can form syconias – these are flowers that have the shape of a ball, they look similar to berries.

This shrub is a perennial, which differs in its unpretentiousness in care and undemanding to the conditions of cultivation. It is cultivated as an ornamental deciduous plant.
